Easter Sunday celebrations in Kuron
Easter Sunday celebrations in Kuron

On Good Friday, a group of us made the journey from Kapoeta to Kuron, taking in the rolling hills and green landscapes along the way. It wasn’t just a road trip—it was a chance to talk, laugh, and get to know each other before Easter.

Saturday was about exploring together: we wandered through the forest, dipped our feet in the river, and visited the Youth Center and farms. At night, everyone gathered outside for the Easter Vigil. There was something special about sharing prayers and stories under the moonlight—it felt peaceful and hopeful.

Easter Sunday was pure joy. We joined the local church for worship, then let loose with music and dancing. Toposa artists filled the air with song, and a friendly football match had everyone cheering—whether you were playing or watching from the sidelines.

We roasted goat, shared meals, and swapped stories late into the evening. Those moments around the fire made us feel like family, even if we came from different places.

On Monday, we walked around the Peace Village, touring the school, the health center, and other spots that showed what the community has built together. It was eye-opening to see how much can happen when people work for peace.

By the end of the trip, we weren’t just visitors—we were friends who understood a little more about what unity and reconciliation really mean in Kuron.

Let me know if you’d like this refined for a specific section or want it even more conversational!
