A Blessed Journey to Torit for the Priestly Ordination of Fr. Leon Longumo
June 26, 2026 · Peace Village Team · Community
On June 26, 2026, we arrived safely in Torit with our Namorupus Parish priest Fr. Lomana Paul, the Executive Director of Holy Trinity Peace Village Mr. Lokii Eliah, and community members from Kuron, Namorupus, and Nanyangacor for the priestly ordination of Fr. Leon Longumo.
The day was truly colourful and blessed for the Holy Trinity Peace Village Kuron family. We were honoured to attend the priestly ordination of Fr. Leon Longumo and his fellow priests in a joyful celebration of faith, thanksgiving, and hope for the Church.
Our women and children from the Holy Trinity Peace Village Kuron schools participated with great enthusiasm, filling the occasion with vibrant songs, cultural performances, and joyful spirits that made the celebration even more memorable.
During the day, we also paid a heartfelt visit to the tomb of our beloved founder, Bishop Emeritus Paride Taban. At his resting place, we offered prayers of gratitude for his extraordinary legacy of peace, reconciliation, and selfless service. His vision continues to inspire and guide us as we remain committed to building peaceful and transformed communities.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the announcement by Bishop Emmanuel Bernardino Lowe Napeta that the newly ordained Fr. Leon Longumo has been appointed to serve at Namorupus Parish, where Holy Trinity Peace Village Kuron is located. We warmly welcome him back to our parish and assure him of our prayers, cooperation, and unwavering support as he begins this new chapter of priestly ministry among us.
We thank Almighty God for this beautiful day of worship, fellowship, and reflection. Congratulations to Fr. Leon Longumo and all the newly ordained priests. May God bless them with wisdom, strength, humility, and faithful hearts as they serve His people.
May the soul of our beloved founder, Bishop Emeritus Paride Taban, continue to rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy of peace, love, and reconciliation continue to guide generations to come.
